Use An H-Bomb To Keep You Warm When Wet

Posted by admin on Nov 8, 2007 in Cool Tech, Gadgets

coldsurf.jpgEver felt a little chilly when diving in the depths of the deep blue / brown giant water tank known as our oceans? Well Rip Curl have decided that no longer should we have to return to the surface for some warm rays to heat us up as they have just launched a new wet suit known as the H-Bomb.

Don’t be fooled by it’s name, it doesn’t explode or doing anything overly dramatic that would help you escape from a shark. No, this suit is self heating!

Surfing on a distant planet (when we finally get there and terra-form some oceans) will no longer be a concern as you can keep your crown jewels (or baby feeders if you are a lady) nice and toasty along with the rest of your body. Perhaps a better example would be rowing in the Antarctic or surfing in Great Britain?

One of the dudes that tested this new self warming wet suit said “The cold wasn’t even a factor when we were surfing, because the wetsuits are that good. The only time you felt the water is when you got flushed and that actually helped because the water circulated around the wetsuit and helped distribute the heat. It was just like surfing in normal water.”

We are going to grab a desk from the office, an H-Bomb heated wetsuit and head to the local lagoon to see if they can battle even our current ball freezing weather front. The real question remains… do these suits detract from the whole point of going into the water in the first place?
