Can’t get enough of his infectious laughter? Enjoyed the many youtube clips of him scaring the crap out of pets and small children or indeed causing them to laugh until they hurl green stuff out their face? Well you will be pleased to know that there is a new special edition of Tickle Me Elmo coming out for Chrimbo.

At first we were rather under whelmed as it was listed that the special edition comes with a gold badge. Whoop! What joy, a badge and “special edition” tag on it. But then we were informed that the new special edition T.M.X toy has some secrets.

If you tickle him in a certain orders you get new reactions that he didn’t have before. This will be great for kids learning patterns and indeed for us curious folk that love to find the “cheat codes” and “easter eggs” that make life more entertaining than it looks at first glance.

The new version will come with some “hints” to unlock the first suprise which is a new song, but then future hints will come out via the Fisher Price web site which should help drive their online activities as well as adding some longevity to the toy that can normally grow old quickly.

We still fondly remember the first Tickle Me Elmo that came out. It had a knack of saying the words “Toss Elmo” at the worst possible moment… or the funniest depending on how you look at it.

The new version is due to retail at $39.99 in the states with no word on any UK appearance as yet as far as we know. Either way, this is sure to be a hot seller this coming holiday season but if we find one appear in the office you can be sure we will be getting him to boogie out the window or down some stairs pretty quickly, unless we happen to have also got some toy tanks or similar to send towards him in a hope of unlocking kung-fu Elmo.
